Justification

Justification for the Degree

A) Previous experience

Since the 2001-2002 academic year, the University of Cordoba has been offering studies leading to a double degree in Law and in Business Administration & Management. This joint arrangement is arranged with a group of students who follow a specific plan for the two degrees, which has enabled them—albeit with additional effort—to obtain the Bachelor’s Degree in Law and the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Management (in 6 years) and, now, the new Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Management (in 5 and a half years). This specific plan has been especially designed to help monitor it with the utmost efficiency and results.

B) Data on potential demand for the degree

The data on students enrolled in the last five years in which the Double Degree in Law and in Business Administration & Management was given are as follows:

- 2003–2004 academic year: 71 students

- 2004–2005 academic year: 85 students

- 2005–2006 academic year: 70 students

- 2006–2007 academic year: 94 students

- 2007–2008 academic year: 96 students

- 2008–2009 academic year: 110 students

There is clearly a growing trend in demand for this double degree.

E) Formally regulated profession for which the degree qualifies

Apart from the connection with other bachelor’s degrees taught at the University of Cordoba (Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Management and Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations & Human Resources), the Double Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Business Administration & Management is especially relevant as regards the Master’s in Autonomous Regional and Local Law, as well as the Master’s Degree in Foreign Trade and Business Internationalisation, and the Master’s Degree in Territorial Employment Policies. The Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching is also very noteworthy.
